Overview
TrailBlazer4x4 (“TrailBlazer4x4,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) provides off-road trail discovery and navigation, trip recording, events, clubs, forums, marketplace listings, alerts, and related community features. This policy explains the information we collect, how we use and share it, and the choices available to you.
Information we collect
Account and profile information. We may collect your name, email address, profile details, vehicle information, selected states or regions, notification preferences, and authentication identifiers.
Location and trail information. With your permission, the app may access precise location while you use navigation, record a trip, save a waypoint, or use another location-based feature. Recorded trips may include coordinates, distance, speed, time, and elevation. Location access can be disabled in your device settings.
User content. We collect content you choose to submit, including events, trail reports, reviews, photos, forum posts, club information, messages, marketplace listings, GPX files, saved trips, and personal waypoints.
Usage and technical information. We may collect device and browser information, IP address, cookie or local-storage identifiers, pages and features used, timestamps, crash information, diagnostics, and security logs.
Communications. If you contact us, we collect the information contained in your request and the details needed to respond.
How we use information
- Operate, secure, maintain, and improve TrailBlazer4x4.
- Provide trail navigation, saved trips, waypoints, marketplace, events, clubs, forums, and other requested features.
- Send account, safety, event, and preference-based alerts and respond to support requests.
- Moderate content, investigate abuse or fraud, enforce our rules, and comply with law.
- Analyze performance and usage so we can improve reliability and user experience.
Location, navigation, and safety
Location information is used only when needed for features you activate. Web and mobile operating systems may pause location updates when an app is backgrounded or the screen is locked. Trail information, closures, conditions, access rules, and map data can change. TrailBlazer4x4 is an aid—not a substitute for official maps, posted signs, land-manager instructions, safe driving, or your own judgment.
How we share information
We may share information in these limited circumstances:
- Service providers. Vendors that host, secure, analyze, map, route, store, or deliver the service receive only the information needed to perform those functions.
- Public and shared content. Information you intentionally post publicly or share with members can be viewed by the audience you select. Private trips and waypoints remain restricted according to their visibility settings.
- Legal and safety reasons. We may disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect users, investigate fraud or abuse, or defend legal rights.
- Business changes. Information may be transferred as part of a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of assets, subject to applicable law.
We do not sell your personal information for money.
Cookies and local storage
We use cookies, browser storage, and similar technologies for authentication, preferences, guest access, security, offline features, and analytics. You can control these technologies through your browser or device settings, although some features may stop working correctly.
Data retention and deletion
We retain information while your account is active and as reasonably necessary to provide the service, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, maintain security, and meet legal obligations. Retention periods vary by data type and purpose.
You may edit profile information and privacy settings in the app. You may request account deletion through the Profile account-deletion control or the dedicated Delete Account page. Some information may remain in backups or be retained when required for security, fraud prevention, legal compliance, or legitimate recordkeeping. Public posts may persist if needed to preserve the integrity of community discussions, but will be disassociated where reasonably possible.
Your choices
- Control location access in your iOS, Android, or browser settings.
- Manage profile visibility, sharing, and alert preferences in the app.
- Choose whether trips, waypoints, listings, and community content are private, shared, or public when that option is available.
- Request access, correction, or deletion by contacting us.
Children
TrailBlazer4x4 is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action.
Security and international use
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards, but no system is completely secure. Information may be processed in the United States or other countries where our service providers operate, subject to applicable safeguards.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the service or legal requirements change. We will post the updated policy here and revise the “last updated” date. Material changes may also be communicated through the app or by email when appropriate.
